Experimenting with expired film, cyanotypes, and the amalgamation of photographic prints, Ray's approach to fotography is rooted in the analog medium and portraiture. In his portraits, he seeks to remove environmental distractions and solely focus on the subject and their essence. Ray has been photographing the San Diego music scene for several years and has collaborated artistically with singer-songwriter Dani Bell. Ray also continues to work on cloudscape photographs and mixed media printing techniques.
A native of California, Ray earned his BA in Art History at San Diego State University and continues his education in Photography at San Diego City College.
